Mark Todd was born in New Zealand and always had a passion for horse riding. For a while he planned to become a jockey; however he quickly grew to over six foot in height and so decided to go into showjumping instead. And it’s a good thing he did. Mark has won gold medals at two different Olympics, Los Angeles in 1984 and Seoul in 1998. He has won the Badminton Horse Trials on four different occasions, as well as the Burghley Horse Trials no less than five times. Mark has also won a number of international awards as a member of the New Zealand eventing team. All in all, Mark is widely accepted as being one of the greatest show jumpers and horse riders in the world. His long history with horses make him ideally placed to know exactly what’s comfortable and what’s not when riding. For this reason Mark decided to create his own brand of equestrian clothing, which remains to this day one of the most popular in the world.

Mark Todd is a national treasure in his home country of New Zealand and was the winner of the 1998 Supreme Halberg Award as national sportsman of the year. He is now a mainstay in the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame. Mark is known around the world as being a pioneer of three-day eventing in New Zealand. In the year 2000 Mark retired from eventing to pursue a life back in New Zealand, however he did make a return to eventing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This comeback has seen Mark continue his work in the equestrian world and he is now based in England and involved in the world of top level eventing.
